Requesting Family Law Records Online

This section provides information about requesting Family Law records online to receive documents through mail delivery with payment by credit card. Only non-confidential documents from cases filed on or after August 24, 2015 that have been designated as an Imaged Case (see Local Rule 5.1.9) can be ordered electronically at this time.

Users can request documents that are certified or exemplified, and remit the corresponding statutory fee during the payment process.

The electronic copy request system cannot process requests without collecting a fee by credit card; therefore, parties who have a valid fee waiver on file will need to confirm their identity in-person to obtain copy requests as permitted by the order on fee waiver.

Online orders are limited to cases from one court location at a time. You may request copies from multiple cases at the same location. However, if you need copies from cases at different locations, you must make a separate request for each location. Non-confidential documents that are ordered online will be mailed to the parties. Keep in mind that these documents are not certified as official court records. If a party would like a certified copy, the online order must so specify and the fee for certification paid. All order processing fees will be calculated at "check out."

Categories of Family Law Cases That May Be Ordered Online

Categories of Family Law Cases That Are Inaccessible Online

The following case categories/documents are inaccessible online, but may be requested in-person at the specific case location where the case is assigned. In-person requests are limited to those individuals who are eligible to access the records under the law and who present a valid government-issued photo identification document.

Parentage

Under the law, the court record from cases filed before January 1, 2023 is not subject to full public access, and therefore cannot be requested online and must be made in-person. To review a parentage court file filed prior to January 1, 2023 you must be related to the case in one of the following ways:

  • Party
  • Attorney of record of a party
  • Department of Child Support Services if they are involved in the case
  • Those that have a court order allowing them to do so
Sealed Cases or Documents that are Confidential by Operation of Law

Documents from any family law case type that has been sealed cannot be requested online. In addition, even case categories that are accessible online to the public may contain documents within the file that are confidential by operation of law. Confidential documents cannot be requested online.
